Gunnedah Celebrating 150 Years DVD

In 2006, Gunnedah celebrated its sesquicentenary or 150th birthday and Heathfilm created a dynamic and visually exciting DVD to celebrate the event.

The DVD has sold out, but you can view an excerpt to the right.

The DVD contains five sections.

1. A Slice of Life - a visually exciting 23 minute celebration montage that weaves together all the elements of Gunnedah’s past and present into a rich visual tapestry. It celebrates the strength, spirit and achievements of this remarkable town, and inspires a sense of pride and belonging within the community. This includes James Knight's poem about the town.

2. A Glimpse of Gunnedah - a 5 minute montage of still photos and Gunnedah footage edited to I am Australian.

3. Poetry - Readings of Dorothea Mackellar's 'My Country' edited to Jean Isherwood's watercolour collection and The Ballad of Ben Hall edited to images from Ben Hall's Wall at Breeza.

4. Historical Slideshows - comprehensive photographic slideshows, loosely grouped into the categories of places, people, agriculture & industry, celebrations & events and commerce & services.

5. Other Town Tidbits - slideshows outlining information about the town mayors and the origins of some Gunnedah's street names.
